Below you will find a list of commonly used words in the fleet industry and in the MiX Now application.
AVL - Stands for Automatic Vehicle Location and is the transmitted location data of the vehicle at a specific point.
Event - Events define what is to be monitored by the device in your vehicle. Events can be standard driving violations (e.g. speeding, harsh braking) or standard events (e.g. battery disconnection).
IMEI - International Mobile Equipment Identity is a unique 15 digit number that identifies every phone or mobile broadband device. The IMEI is thus used for uniquely identifying your device.
Location - A location is a pre-defined area drawn on the map in the tracking feature that simplifies the task of knowing when your vehicle arrived and left a certain area like a customer location, fuel stop, rest stop, high accident zone, no-go zone, etc.
Site - is a physical location or grouping at which drivers are based and/or from which vehicles are operated. This grouping can be per region, state, department or any other grouping that makes sense in your business
User - can be a user of the web or mobile application, a user of a vehicle (i.e. driver) or mobile phone. Should the customer opt to track one of his users by mobile phone, there will be an additional cost per use that is trackable.
VIN- The vehicle identification number is a unique 17 character number that identifies your specific vehicle, almost like your vehicle's identity number.
